George Hamilton and Joan Collins have been friends since the late 1950s, and they got on famously during this photo shoot. Afterward, they went to Desert AIDS Project, where they recorded PSAs promoting the annual Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards. When they emerged from the recording room, Hamilton joked to her, “If you keep at this, you could be professional.” Later, as they posed for pictures in front of a backdrop for the fundraiser, he announced to the photographers, “I have been in the most important points of Joan’s life.”
